MrBeast Admits to Using "Inappropriate Language" in Past YouTube Videos

Jimmy 'MrBeast' Donaldson, YouTube’s top content creator, is under scrutiny after a spokesperson admitted he used "inappropriate language" in his early videos. With his channel surpassing 300 million subscribers in July 2024, MrBeast is now facing backlash related to his past content and associations. The controversy heightened after accusations against his former collaborator, Ava Kris Tyson, for inappropriate behavior with minors, leading to criticism from fans and former employees.

On July 31, MrBeast addressed the controversy, with a representative stating that Donaldson made poor jokes and used inappropriate language as a teenager. The spokesperson emphasized that MrBeast has apologized multiple times and recognizes his responsibility as an influencer. Donaldson has distanced himself from Tyson, firing her and conducting an independent investigation into her behavior. Despite these actions, MrBeast continues to face significant backlash and remains a hot topic across social media.

Adin Ross Announces Donald Trump Stream and Makes $100K Viewership Bet

Adin Ross has revealed that President Donald Trump will join him on his Kick stream on August 5. This announcement comes after UFC President Dana White connected Ross with Trump, fulfilling a collaboration Ross has pursued since meeting the former President at UFC 287 in 2023.

In a stream on July 30, Ross thanked Dana White for facilitating the connection and spoke with Kick CEO Eddie Craven about promoting the broadcast. Ross bet $100,000 that the stream would attract over 600,000 concurrent viewers, raising the stakes from an initial 500,000. Fellow streamer Asmongold predicted the stream could draw over a million viewers, calling it potentially "legendary."

Asmongold Baffled by Dr Disrespect’s Return Strategy

Twitch streamer Asmongold was stunned by Dr Disrespect's return to social media after confessing to sending explicit messages to a minor. Dr Disrespect, or Guy Beahm, disappeared from the streaming world in late June following these revelations, which resulted in numerous sponsors cutting ties with him.

In late July, Dr Disrespect reappeared on social media with a provocative photo and responded to critics with jokes and insults. Asmongold noted that without brand deals, Dr Disrespect has nothing left to lose and is embracing a "villain" persona. He predicted that Doc’s return to streaming could draw around 200K viewers due to his bold, unfiltered approach.

Twitch Viewership Declines as Kick and YouTube Grow in 2024

Twitch's dominance in the streaming industry is waning as rival platforms Kick and YouTube see significant growth in 2024. For years, Twitch led the market, but its commanding lead is shrinking. A report from Stream Hatchet revealed that Twitch's market share in hours watched dropped 10% from Q2 2023 to Q2 2024, going from 70% to 60%. While Twitch still boasts 5.1 billion hours watched, YouTube's share rose from 17% to 23.4%, and Kick holds a solid third place with 5.5%.

Kick’s impressive 163% year-over-year growth is largely attributed to streamers like xQc. Meanwhile, Twitch faces challenges, including significant financial losses since Amazon's acquisition ten years ago. Concerns are growing within Amazon that Twitch could face another round of layoffs, following the firing of one-third of its employees earlier in 2024. Insiders have likened Twitch to a "zombie" brand for Amazon, similar to Goodreads and Woot.

FaZe Banks Discusses NICKMERCS' Role Amid FaZe Clan Reboot

FaZe Banks has clarified Nick 'NICKMERCS' Kolcheff's status within FaZe Clan following the organization’s reboot and member purge. Despite numerous changes and a shift away from its sniper clan origins, NICKMERCS remains a part of FaZe. Banks stated in a July 27 stream that the specifics of Nick's role are still being worked out, but he praised Nick and his family, emphasizing his desire to avoid drama.

The reboot has led to significant layoffs, with Banks aiming to streamline the organization. Originally, 110 employees were let go, with Banks wanting to reduce the staff to about 10. Nick, a partial owner of FaZe after leaving 100 Thieves, admitted to being left in the dark during the cuts but expressed his desire to steer clear of any conflict.
