MrBeast Faces Lawsuit Over 'Inhumane Conditions' on Beast Games Amazon Show
The contestants were competing for a $5 million prize, the biggest in television history
MrBeast and Amazon are now facing legal troubles from contestants on their show "Beast Games." On September 16, 2024, a lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, accusing the production of severe mistreatment. The complaint details allegations of unpaid wages, sexual harassment, and harsh working conditions that left several participants hospitalized.
"Beast Games," set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video, was advertised as a high-stakes competition with a $5 million prize. Despite the show's appeal, the lawsuit claims that contestants were subjected to chronic abuse, including deprivation of food, sleep, and medical care. The filing also suggests that the working environment was particularly hostile for female contestants, who reportedly faced significant sexism and mistreatment.
The lawsuit highlights that the contestants were promised payment but never received their minimum wage or overtime. Instead, they were reportedly asked to cover production expenses out of pocket, adding to their grievances.
As of now, neither MrBeast nor Amazon has publicly addressed the lawsuit. The legal action casts a shadow over the upcoming show's debut and raises questions about the show's production practices.
