PS5 Integrates Seamless Discord Voice Chat

PlayStation continues to enhance the gaming experience by deepening its integration with Discord. Since the introduction of Discord voice chat on the PS5, gamers have connected through voice channels over 290 million times, seamlessly combining gaming and socializing.

Starting today, PlayStation is rolling out a new feature that allows players to join Discord voice chats directly from their PS5 consoles. This update eliminates the need for the Discord PC or mobile apps to initiate connections, streamlining the process and making it even more convenient.

To join a voice chat on your PS5 console, you will need to simply navigate to the Discord tab in Game Base within the PS5 Control Center. From there, select the Discord server or DM group you want to join, and choose your preferred voice channel. You’ll see details such as who is already in the channel. Additionally, you’ll receive notifications on your PS5 console when another Discord user calls you, allowing you to join instantly.

This update is set to roll out gradually over the next few weeks, beginning with players in Japan and Asia, followed by Europe, Australia/New Zealand, the Middle East, and finally the Americas. Ensure your PS5 system software is up-to-date and that your PlayStation Network and Discord accounts are linked to take advantage of this feature.
